Why Do We Donate food?

Food is the basis of life and is called Brahma. Donation of food not only satisfies hunger. When food goes into the mouth of a hungry person like an offering in a yagnya, the satisfaction derived from it comes out of his heart and blesses the one who does this. Donation of food shows social concern. In our country, burning fields, cutting forests and trees to harm the enemy during a war has been prohibited. This is a sign of respect for food. The farmer who produces food is called Annadaata (provider of food). Sanatan culture gives the message of giving food to the hungry and water to the thirsty, this is the self-dharma of a human being. ~ Shri Prem Parmanand Ji Maharaj.
